In this Photoshop tutorial we will make a great glossy 3d text effect, check out the result below.
Place it in the middle of the stage in Photoshop, then go to edit -> transform -> perspective then drag the upper handles a bit closer together as shown below.
Having the text layer selected, hold down the alt key and press the up arrow on your keyboard, do this hmm 10 - 15 times, this will make copies of the layer and places them 1 pixel above the previous ones.
Now we will merge all those layers together, so in the layer panel select all the new created layers except 1, the top one, right click and choose merge layers.
Double click the top layer, (the one we kept from before). and in the layers styles panel give it the following settings.
Now we will make a small reflection, so hold down ctrl and click the top layer to load the selection, then make a new layer above it and name it reflection.
with the elliptical selection tool choose selection mode intersect with selection and drag as shown below.
Make a gradient from white to transparent and drag it into the selection.
Now double click the bottom layer, the layer with the text 3d effect and give the layers style panel the following settings.
And you should be done, you can always change the gradient colors, you dont need to use blue as I did, I just like blue :-)
